Young pigeons have different nutritional requirements to adult birds, particularly during the first few weeks of life when growth and feather development place greater demands on their diet.

Backs Bambino is a complementary egg food developed to provide additional nutrition during breeding and rearing. It contains a mixture of animal proteins, seeds and honey, making it suitable for feeding alongside a balanced corn mixture rather than as a replacement for the birds’ normal feed.

Many pigeon fanciers begin introducing an egg food once youngsters are around a week old and continue feeding it throughout the rearing period. It can also be fed after weaning, when young pigeons are still developing their first full feather coat and adapting to feeding independently.

Backs Bambino is supplied as a dry mix and can be lightly moistened before feeding if preferred.
