The moulting season places different nutritional demands on pigeons as they replace their feathers. During this time, many fanciers switch to a moulting mix designed to provide the balance of protein, grains and oils needed to help birds maintain condition while new feathers develop.
Our range includes specially blended moulting feeds for use throughout the moult, helping pigeon fanciers choose the right feed for this important stage of the season. Our S.S.S Moulting and Super Moulting mixes have been developed for use throughout the moulting season, giving pigeon fanciers a choice of feeds to suit their loft and management programme.

Balanced protein and oils are key during the moult, alongside a good mineral source and fresh water.
Yes—keep work light and focus on condition while feathers replace.
Typically 30–50 g per pigeon per day, adjusted to maintain a healthy weight and tidy troughs.
A light coating of linseed (flax) or rapeseed oil can help feather sheen and vitamin absorption. As a guide, use 5–10 ml of oil per kg of grain, 2–3 times per week, then dust with brewer’s yeast once or twice weekly. Always provide insoluble grit/minerals ad lib and fresh water. Avoid over-supplementing or using salty/medicated products, and make changes gradually while monitoring condition.
