Canary Food

Plain canary is a simple, well-accepted daily base. Mixed canary adds complementary small seeds for variety. No Rape Seed is a mixed option formulated without rapeseed for keepers who prefer it excluded.

Use dry eggfood during breeding, moulting or recovery for extra protein. Offer in small portions alongside the regular seed mix and fresh water. It’s not intended as a permanent daily staple.

Typically 1–2 teaspoons of dry seed per bird per day, plus suitable fresh foods. Adjust to weight, activity and season.

• Great daily veg: leafy greens, carrot, broccoli, courgette, peppers.
• Avoid: avocado, chocolate, caffeine, alcohol, onion, garlic, xylitol and salty/fried foods.

Provide cuttlebone or a mineral block for calcium. Some keepers offer insoluble grit; use sparingly and monitor intake.

Blend gradually over 5–7 days (75/25 → 50/50 → 25/75), watching appetite, droppings and weight.

Store cool, dry and airtight off the floor; use first-in, first-out. Replace seed/water daily and wash bowls daily.
